I have loved drawing figures all my life. As an art student the highlight of my week was the life drawing class, where students were encouraged to be expressive and find unique ways of mark-making as long as it was underpinned by an understanding of perspective and proportion via observational skills.
To this day, all my paintings begin with a strong, linear image mapped out with a trusty graphite pencil.
