Reflections and repeated motifs are a much-explored theme in my paintings. They are a device to add mystery and ask the viewer to question whether they are looking at one person reflected, or 2 people.
Symbolically, twins in my paintings signify the star sign Gemini and ideas of duality and the inner soul vs the body. I like to add little twists, eg a reflection that is not quite a reflection or the “correct” way round.
